At the square of Xibaipo Memorial Hall, all members remembered the great achievements of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, reviewed the significant enlightenment and historical significance of Mao Zedong’s “two musts” and “a journey to Beijing to take the test”. The earnest admonition of General Secretary Xi Jinping has been well understood who emphasized that “the test is far from over” and “Xibaipo is a place to establish rules”. Chen Liang, on behalf of all the teachers and students, presented a flower basket to the statues of the Five Great Secretaries, led all staff members to review the oath of joining the Communist Party, and expressed the determination to “stay true to the Party’s original aspiration and founding mission” and “fight for communism for a lifetime”.
At the old site of the Niushan Teachers’ College, they visited the Exhibition Hall of the Cradle of New China’s Education and that of the Old Site of Niushan. With the photos, historical materials, and memories, they reviewed the school’s hard history of borrowing land to run schools, summarized the outstanding contributions to local primary and secondary education, sorted out the arduous struggles in its development at various stages, and received a vivid and profound lecture on the history of SJZU. Over the three years in Niushan, Shijiazhuang Normal Junior College faced a difficult educational environment and shouldered a challenging educational task after restoring the college entrance examination. It, however, conscientiously implementing the party’s education policy and carrying forward the party’s fine tradition, made fruitful achievements and cultivated a large number of qualified education talents with high morality through its hardworking and continuous innovation. “Shouldering a mission, we must not forget our original inspiration. We must work hard and forge ahead with determination.” We all agreed that the visit is beneficial, for we can learn the firmness of pursuing the education ideals of those older educators and their devotion and passion to the education mission, which also strengthened our determination to cultivate talents for the party and for the country.
Chen Liang pointed out that March 23rd this year marks the 74th anniversary of the Party Central Committee leaving Xibaipo to “face the test” in Beijing. On this special day, the visit to Xibaipo, the revolutionary holy land, not only gave us a profound education on Party spirit and ideological and political education, but also baptized and sublimated our souls, allowing us to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Party’s original aspirations and mission in the new era. He also emphasized that everyone would carry forward the school’s fine tradition of running schools, inherit the pioneering spirit of the older generation of educators, and study and comprehend the essence of the Xibaipo spirit. Everyone should adopt Xi Jinping’s socialist thoughts with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 20th Party Congress as a guide, deeply understand the historical logic, rich connotation, and significance from “two musts” to “three musts”, and follow the school’s “1396” development strategy to embark on a new journey of “passing the test”. At last, he advocated that everyone should perform well in the test of the times and transform effectively the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, provincial committee, and municipal committee into the school’s goals and tasks and concrete actions, and render the achievements of educational practice into motivation to work, contributing to the construction of strong economy in Hebei, a beautiful Hebei, and a socialist modernization country.
